About Vicki


Vicki Hamilton is a highly experienced Child and Family Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children, their families and carers since 1993 in both NHS and Children’s Services settings.  She has been working independently since 2005 and has provided numerous reports for Public and Private Family Law Proceedings.

As well as extensive experience in all child and adolescent mental health issues she has particular skills and expertise relating to the impact of trauma upon children and young people, parenting assessments and interventions, and understanding and formulating issues regarding attachment for children and their carers.

Vicki is trained and accredited in the use of the Adult Attachment Interview, Parent-Child Game and In My Shoes computer assisted interview for children and vulnerable adults.  Since 1995 she has also specialised in work regarding the assessment, management, care, treatment and placement planning of looked after children. She has extensive experience of intervening in cases of family/placement breakdown and working with parents to enable rehabilitation of children home, as well as having worked extensively with adopted children and their parents.
